The following positions will be based in the Townsville area under the direction of an Operations Supervisor and will provide assistance to a number of fuel installation sites in the region. In this long-term role, you’ll put in 38 hours a week (Monday through Friday). The hourly salary for this position is $46, plus superannuation (OA), and it is permanent. Prior experience in bulk fuel management or defense fuels is required for the role of operating agent

Job Duties and Summary:

  • Maintain a secure system for storing and using fuels and fuel-related materials
  • In charge of fulfilling the Defence Fuel Installation’s (DFI) daily product integrity needs.
  • Direct a group of DFI Operators
  • Oversee the collection of samples and analysis for Fuel Quality Control (FQC).
  • Oversee the DFI’s rollout and continued conformity to regulations.
  • Ensure enough fuel supplies by keeping tabs on inventory and scheduling orders as needed to meet client demands.
  • In charge of the DFI’s safety, environment, and emergencies
  • Compare regular reports to ensure correctness; look into discrepancies
  • Keep an eye on the training and competency standards that DFI Operators must meet to start and stay in compliance.
  • Performing a variety of duties to keep infrastructure and core resources in good shape
  • Make that the system is keeping good records.
  • Communicate as needed with members of the Defense Department, upper management, vendors, and the general public.
  • In charge of the safekeeping, transport, and disposal of potentially harmful items
  • Superb control of one’s time
  • Capable of making detailed plans and sticking to them
  • Competent in both written and spoken forms of communication

Minimum Requirements/About the Applicant

  • A valid driver’s license (HR or HC licenses are preferred) Defense-specific training is a plus, although the successful applicant will receive this training as needed.
