Job Duties and Summary:

• Processes claims for damaged or missing items, verifies receipt of all incoming materials, and distributes bills to appropriate departments.
• Crates, packs, and wraps supplies, equipment, and sample containers for shipment; initiates shipping documents; notifies consignee of shipment details; maintains relevant records and files; selects local, national, and international cartage suppliers.
• Training staff on how to use and maintain material handling equipment such mobile cranes, forklifts, and pallet movers.
• Sets up conference room seats and moves office furniture, equipment, and sample containers.
• Responsible for maintaining the safety of the reception area by checking in and checking out guests and vendors and directing them to their desired destinations within the building.
• Performs routine upkeep of the building and grounds, such as sweeping and mopping the floor and cleaning the labs and offices.
• Responsible for keeping the trash shed neat and tidy, as well as updating and maintaining inventory records.
• Assigns general storage areas for material/equipment, orders and stores compressed gases, arranges for the laundering and upkeep of work coats, and sends used and surplus materials out to bid.
• May execute duties of a minor nature relating to the above duties which do not influence the rating of the job.

Minimum Requirements/About the Applicant

• Possessing a high school diploma or its equivalent in terms of experience is required. Formal training in Handling Dangerous Goods,
• WHIMIS, and Forklift Operations.
• Experience as a shipper/receiver, stockkeeper, or materials handler, as well as a valid class 5 driver’s license, is preferred.
