At our Whakatane Transfer Station, we are looking to add an Operator to our team.

Keeping the transfer station and recycling area clean and well-organized is your top priority in this position. You’ll also be responsible for answering customers’ questions and presenting the company in a professional light.

Salary RTS Operator job:

• NZD 20-30 per hour

Job Duties and Summary:

• Sort the trash and recyclables that clients bring in.
• Perform necessary operations on onsite machinery and tools
• Guidance for traffic flow and consumer education
• Make sure that everything is neat and tidy at all times, including buildings, grounds, streets, and landscaping.
• Perform various manual labor tasks as needed
• Perform administrative tasks as assigned, including keeping accurate records and filing required paperwork.
• Complete recycling programs and divert trash from landfills as planned.

Minimum Requirements/About the Applicant

• Endorsements for a Class 2 license: W, T, and R
• It would be beneficial to have prior operator experience.
• It would be ideal to have a forklift license (OSH).
• The ability to work well both independently and in a team setting is essential, as is a reasonable degree of physical fitness.
