An experienced Groundsperson/Bus Driver is needed at Columba Catholic College, Charters Towers, beginning in Term 1, 2024. This is a permanent employment with a full work week (38 hours).

Pay Groundsperson/Bus Driver job:

• AUD 20–30 per hour

Job Responsibilities and Overview:

• Meet with the Grounds Supervisor on a regular basis to discuss responsibilities and shift scheduling.
• Care for the outdoor area by mowing the grass, pruning trees that hang over structures, erecting hedges, sweeping, and vacuuming.
• Maintain and improve the school’s outdoor areas by helping with tasks including fertilizing, pest-control, landscaping, and checking and fixing the irrigation system.
• Tasks such as trash hauling, sandbox tilling, and pressure washing are included.
• Help get things ready for events and exhibitions at school.
• Repair College property and equipment as needed, such as:
• Help with field markings
• Preventative measures and regular cleaning of equipment and storage sheds
• Help out with cleaning, upkeep, and basic maintenance responsibilities as needed.

Eligibility Criteria/About the Applicant

• Experienced with the tools and machinery used in landscaping and maintenance
• Proven experience creating and maintaining outside spaces, including gardens and lawns; excellent communication and people skills; familiarity with school policies and procedures
• Ability to swiftly analyze repairs to ensure maximum safety and compliance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation is indicative of a proactive attitude toward service maintenance.
• Worked at a school before, and has a clean driving record and an LR Medium Rigid bus license.
