Lifeguard job in USA 2023. YMCA of Greater Brandywine has announced the vacancies for the Lifeguard job position in order to run the operations seamlessly. An alliance of eight YMCAs in Chester County, the YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) is a charitable organization with a mission to “enhance the potential of every child; promote healthy living; and foster social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.” We tailor our services and facilities to the individual preferences and requirements of the over 60,000 people who call Chester County home. The lifeguard’s primary duty is to ensure the security of all members and program participants at any aquatic facility they are assigned to.

• $14 – $17 an hour

Job Responsibilities

Below are the essential job roles and responsibilities that you will have to perform:

• scanning the designated area at a rate of once every ten seconds and covering the farthest distance in under twenty.
• When coming in and going out of their zones, lifeguards should always do a thorough bottom scan.
• Place oneself such that the view of the pool bottom throughout the area of duty is not obstructed by glare, building components, or floating play devices.
• Every five minutes, switch up your body position in accordance with the “5 Minute Strategy” established by Jeff Ellis and company.

Job Requirements or Eligibility Criteria

Job requirements or eligibility criteria that the candidate has to meet are as follows:

• Age requirement is at least 15
• Current Ellis & Associates lifeguard certification or the ability to transfer your Ellis & Associates lifeguard certification.
• First Aid, Oxygen Administration, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer
