Job Duties and Summary:

  • Care plan is created, carried out, and revised depending on ongoing assessment of the patient and family participation.
  • Communicates and works together with other healthcare providers for optimal patient care.
  • Performs interventions as prescribed by the provider and documents them appropriately in the electronic medical record to verify and implement instructions from the physician, physician assistant, and/or advanced practice nurse.
  • Engages and gathers information from patient and/or family to build a suitable patient educational plan.
  • the ability to identify signs and symptoms, prioritize care, and adapt to a patient’s evolving requirements.
  • Utilizes support staff by assigning duties and providing feedback in accordance with the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Members of the nursing community who work to improve the lives of their patients, their communities, and the nursing profession as a whole.
  • Provides “quality” patient care as defined by recognized nursing quality standards and other governing/accrediting health care bodies by integrating theoretical knowledge, evidence-based research, current standards of practice, and practical experience.
  • Responds to assignments as Charge Nurse and makes use of all available facilities and equipment.
  • Collaborates with other nurses to discover, develop, and offer good learning experiences for staff and students.
  • Acts as a mentor and/or teacher to other nurses and healthcare workers.
  • Owns their own professional development by figuring out what they need to study next and then doing something about it.
  • Extra responsibilities as needed.
  • Take part in additional special projects and related duties as needed.

Minimum Requirements/About the Applicant

  • Possession of the qualifications necessary to apply for a Registered Nurse license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.
  • Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in writing and speech in order to promote positive patient-caregiver relationships
  • Ability to learn the Electronic Health Record (EHR) quickly and pick up advanced abilities on the job
  • Outstanding work history, interpersonal skills, and attendance necessary.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized institution is required at a minimum.
  • Accredited by the American National Certifying Agency.
  • Possessing strong verbal and written communication skills that help health care practitioners build therapeutic bonds with patients and their loved ones is essential.
